The Physics
Exergy is being actively researched as an optimisation tool by many organisations, but all fall foul of the problem of losses. Generally, all they can do is to generate a set of results from sample calculations and use these to predict behaviours along a single variable path. The patent devises a mechanism that allows all losses to be included in the analytical model creating a reversible function allowing standard Min-max analysis to be used to minimise losses
The Mathematics
The system transfers the operating parameters from the normal irreversible cycle of the power station in normal Galilean space to a theoretical construct that models the station in Riemannian space as a reversible system. Dr Yasni proved that the parameters of both systems are the same at their boundaries allowing reverse mirroring to bring the optimal control parameters out of the digital twin and into the hands of the plant operators (or into a real time closed loop control).
Efficiency Calculator
The digital model does not require any capital plant modifications and for a typical plant all the necessary control parameters will already be measured for the conventional control systems, so the calculator simply looks at the gains from improved efficiency in terms of profit and carbon reduction. Allowances for capital finance are not required. Financial inputs can be varied to review what if scenarios... what if the cost of carbon increases significantly?
